This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students here are very driven and artistic. They also love to play music and create their own songs while performing for their fellow students and community. Unfortunately we don't have a lot of funds to allocate to helping them musically.
My students are using music as an outlet to express themselves as not only artists but as individuals.
They love to make music all day no matter where they are! Many of these students come from backgrounds were music is a helpful outlet for them to work out any issues they may have.
My Project
Choir is one of the many things that has helped myself and other students find their voice! Music and open many doors as well as act as a tool to help students manage their emotions. Many of my students come from varied and sometimes troubled backgrounds.
Students in my program use music as a way to find their voice as well as cope with many of the difficulties they face in the world today.
My goal is to make sure every student can have an amazing and meaningful musical journey. The piano in my music room is wonderful however it no long will stay in tune! A stable device would be a huge resource for students to use throughout our music lessons!
