My students are sweet, caring, compassionate young readers who are eager to learn. They are capable of deep thoughts, making connections with the books they read and their own experiences, and determining what the stories are really about. These children are at a point in their literacy education where they are applying their reading skills and strategies to LEARN. To learn through reading, not just about content area, but also about relationships and life. Their insights are always thoughtful and inspiring.
My Project
These books will boost the current classroom library with wonderful stories about complex characters that are rich in life lessons. Students will not only enjoy reading them, but also strengthen integral skills and strategies that will promote lifelong reading habits.
This selection of books includes a variety of genres, several reading levels for fourth grade readers, interesting themes that are relatable to many, and they are written by award winning authors.
With a collection of books such as this, my students will not be able to help themselves from engaging in deep and meaningful conversations about books, encouraging others to read the books they’ve grown to love.
