Have you ever seen the spark in a child's eye when they finally make the connections they need to learn to read? It is very inspiring and exciting when they finally do. These games and activities requested will help to do that.
I have a class of 24 students in the morning and 24 students in the afternoon.
These 48 kids come to me with different backgrounds in learning. It is my job to teach them where they are and build new knowledge as they ready. Their main goal during the school year is to learn how to read! My goal is to make sure that happens.
My Project
Activities such as the word work folder games and the twist and turn word building sticks will allow each student to work on skills at their level. Some students are still learning that you need letters to make a word. The rhyming games, alphabet sticks, and alphabet folder games will allow those children to work at their own pace in the word work center. Rather than having them complete a worksheet that may or may not apply to their knowledge level, I can offer them options in game form. They will still be learning, but it will be in a more fun and exciting way!
I want to inspire a love for reading at an early age.
Since kids learn to read in kindergarten, I believe this is a crucial time to develop a love of learning. I strive to always make learning fun and engaging.
