Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have amazing students, who are excited about coming to school everyday. They are so playful and energetic. They love working with materials that are hands on and visual. Most of them love to read and going to the library. The ones who don't love it yet are getting there as their ability to read improves.

The students can't get enough of hands-on learning!

I try to provide as many sorts, games, manipulatives, and interactive activities as possible. When my students have something in their hands, they are more focused.

My Project

Having the photo cases, greeting card boxes, and cardstock will provide materials needed to make each student the words sorts they need and provide a place to store them.

To provide the students with excellent word study instruction, lots of sorts and picture cards are needed.

These sorts and picture cards include all different spelling patterns and sounds that will help students become better word decoders and spellers, which in turn increases their reading ability. The school district provides all sorts and picture cards electronically. Printing them for each students can get tedious. The cardstock will provide copies of the sorts that can be used again and again.
