My Students

As a teacher in my school district, I see students from many different backgrounds enter my classroom everyday.

These students are all here for the same reason, yet they face very different challenges both in and out of the classroom.

I have both regular education and special education students in my classroom. Some of these students have a much harder time learning and processing information than others. Some students come from poverty stricken homes, some students come from wealthy homes, yet all of them are in my classroom to learn.

My Project

My students enjoy using whiteboards during class on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the whiteboards that we currently have are not in good condition. To give you an idea, I have been teaching for five years and the whiteboards in my classroom were purchased long before then! Most of our whiteboards are very stained and hard to erase. Some are even chipped and cracked and unusable by students.

My students love getting the opportunity to show their understanding on whiteboards.

This gives me a chance to better assess if a student is struggling and needs extra attention, or if they are excelling. Using whiteboards in class is also a great way for my students who struggle, to have a visual of what they are learning.
