My Students

Our students are sweet, special and eager to learn! Our school is a Title I school with an overwhelming majority of the students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Many students live in the local hotels or stay with family members or friends. Many students are considered homeless.

Our school is our home!

It is where our students come to feel safe, successful and loved. For many, our school is the only place in their lives that provide those three important feelings of safety, success, and love.

My Project

I would like to host a book study for the new book The Wild Card by Hope and Wade King for ten of my colleagues. This year my school is focusing on increasing our collective efficacy and ensuring standards are taught at the appropriate rigor. As a result, student achievement will increase across all subjects and subgroups.

The Wild Card is a step-by-step guide to experiencing creative breakthroughs in classrooms.

I have been lucky to visit The Ron Clark Academy two times where I met and observed Hope and Wade King. Their passion, inspiration, and dedication is contagious. Each visit inspired and enabled me to make dramatic, creative changes in my classroom that had an enormous impact on my student's engagement and achievement. Not all of my colleagues have had the opportunity to visit RCA or see these phenomenal educators in person. I would like to host a book study on The Wild Card to bring Hope and Wade's ideas and excitement to more teachers in my school and have an even greater impact on more students in our little school!
