My students range from middle to very low-income families. We are a rural school with about 100 students in our third through fifth grade building. All of our students are very eager to come to school and learn something new!

They work with each other to make sure no one is left behind. In our class, we love to work together on ideas and projects, setting an example that we are always learning.
With the ever-changing standards, we try to be up-to-date, but sometimes funds are hard to come by, so we then look for outside sources like DonorChoose.org.
My Project
Wild About Reading will introduce students to the world of the One and Only Ivan. Ivan has a marvelous true story behind the book. It also teaches the students about caring for others and having compassion. The Who Would Win? series is an intriguing series that allows students to read nonfiction story comparing animals in the real world.
My students all love to read and are very interested in animals.
This project would allow us to do a literature study as well as compare animals and their interactions in real life. By having access to this books, my students be able to improve their reading skills as well as comprehension skills.
