This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My energetic students are eager to learn and are always full of curiosity about the world around them.
We are a kindergarten class in an urban K4-8th grade school.
Each and every day these young scholars are building important foundations in learning that they will carry with them forever.
My students come from low-income families and live in high-crime neighborhoods in a big city. They receive free breakfast and lunch at school and their families struggle to afford most school supplies.
My Project
Kindergarteners are naturally full of energy and curiosity--especially when they are excited about learning. While we do our best to provide them with movement opportunities throughout the day, work time can be a challenge for my wiggly students.
I believe that movement is essential to students' learning and development.
Movement shouldn't be viewed as a break from learning; movement IS learning! It is widely known that physical activity has a direct result on brain function.
Your donation will provide wobble chairs, comfy floor seats and wobble cushions allowing my students to have flexible seating options. Each day, students will choose which type of seat works best for them. They will be able to use the wobble cushions during large group lessons on the carpet and on their chairs. These cushions and wobble chairs help strengthen core muscles while allowing students to wiggle while they work.
