Wiggly Giggle First Grade Readers!

My students need wobble seats for our classroom. These chairs will help our minds focus while our bodies wiggle. More brain (and core) exercise while finishing seat work.

My Students

I have a terrific group of active first graders! They love to dive in and explore. "Discovering " something new thrills them to infinity and beyond. They are very eager learners that are filled with questions.

Their high energy is contagious!

This can make sitting still for the 10-15 minutes it takes to complete a task a challenge. I Integrating movement as much as possible, however sometimes we need to be still and work. The district does it best, but we also struggle to provide the materials our kids need.

My Project

I have asked for wiggle seats for my students. These chairs will be used during reading and math small groups. Often want my friends to move their bodies and struggle to focus on a task if they have to be too still. Wiggle seat will help us move with out bothering others.

It seems the natural tendency for the kiddos is to lean forward in their chairs.

This results in a tripping hazard for other students or adults moving around the room. If they aren't tipping they have their feet tangled in the chair which interrupts their work ( and neighbors) when they try to move.

Thank you for helping my kids have to opportunity to be more focused while they work. Not to mention the increase in core strength.
