My Students

I teach kindergarten at a school with an incredibly diverse student population. Students from many socioeconomic statuses, countries, and ethnic backgrounds are represented at our school and in our classroom. I have students in my class with different behavioral, social, and academic challenges.

My class is like a family: We love each other, we respect each other, and we all work together.

My students are excited to come to school each day to grow as a community and as individuals.

My Project

These wiggle chairs will allow my 5- and 6-year-old students to keep their busy bodies busy while learning BIG things! The chairs are a perfect, developmentally appropriate tool to use in our kindergarten classroom. While I try hard to make learning as active an activity as possible in our classroom--through singing, dancing, exercising, and playing--the reality is that sometimes my students need to sit down for certain tasks. With these stools, students working with me in small reading and writing groups will be able to move while working on stationary activities. These stools will be especially beneficial for students who have ADHD.
