My students come to school every day excited to learn. They are smart, curious, creative, and hardworking. They love to read, love to explore, and love to learn new things.
Many of my students come from low-income households and do not have access to educational materials or preschool prior to beginning kindergarten.
Our goal is to have students reading, writing, adding, and subtracting by the time they leave kindergarten. As their teacher, my goal is to provide my students with the love, support, knowledge, and resources they need to be successful.
Wouldn't you have loved to have the option to sit on a soft cushion while you did your work? The furniture in the Flex-Space Cozy Work Space Bundle will take my students from behind desks and will give them the option to choose a seat that will be comfortable for their learning style.
Evolving the classroom to meet student's individual needs impacts how they learn, how they interact, and the entire classroom climate.
Students sit for a large portion of their day. Having a comfortable place to read can not only be an incentive to complete their work and stay in their seats, but also help them to stay focused while reading their books!
This project will increase engagement and motivation - an incredible mind shift. This student centered flexible seating arrangement will not only allow my students to reflect on where they want to learn but also with whom they want to learn as collaboration options increase as well. Skills in self-reflection, flexiblity, and creativity will flourish leading to improved behavior and higher academic performance.
