My Students

As a science teacher for students in the Flint area, we are trying to build a strong community of learners based on scientific exploration, inquiry, and engineering. Our district is part of a lower socio-economic area and, as an educator, I strive to give students the opportunity to learn and grow and be responsible, scientific-minded adults.

My students are eager to learn and explore.

However, there are many obstacles standing in our way. Their love for science is evident through their continual questioning of the world around them!

My Project

My fourth and fifth grade science students are future engineers! They build prototypes, make and revise models, and use their engineering skills to solve some tough societal problems. However, they do not have the appropriate space to work in. The students are continually moving around the room, talking and discussing with their peers and getting materials to build with. Because of this, the students need seating that allows them to move around the room and regroup with ease. The Kobe Wobble Stools would be a stellar solution to this problem and allow students the freedom they need when engineering in the classroom.
