Most mornings in our room begin with multiple students bringing me extra plastic sporks in case someone forgot theirs for breakfast. The stash is slowly taking over my closet, but it makes me so excited to see students taking care of each other!
Our school is an urban neighborhood school located on the near east side of Indianapolis.
My students love music, drawing, and funny stories, and they're developing their social and emotional skills. They love to play games, and they all want to be your helper all the time!
My Project
Students sit at tables for centers and work time throughout the day. Many of my students do a fabulous job when they are working in small groups with me, but they are much more tempted to get off-task when they are working independently because they are 6 and have what seems like a never-ending amount of energy!
The wobble stools and wiggle cushions will let the students get their wiggles out while they sit and work independently or listen to instructions.
In addition, they can also help with posture and core strength. We also short a few chairs because of new students joining us recently! We have enough for everyone, but because we work at different tables at different times of the day, we are always shifting them around. The wobble stools would help give us more seats and reduce the constant shifting of chairs we have to do currently.
