Ready, Set, Learn! Our classroom is full of active learners and they need stools that gently roll with their natural movements, so all learners are supported and comfortable while they focus on the days work.
My classroom of 21 first graders are just beginning their adventures of lifelong learning.
They are hard working, excited, and engaged. Our school supports their desire to learn and become well educated children, but can not provide the classroom accommodations to meet the needs of active learners. The first graders in my class are dedicated to becoming the best students they can be, wiggles and all!
First graders are given instruction all day long and during most of it they are sitting. Adults are well aware of the need to move and stretch, yet the school environment encourages long bouts of sitting still. While I want my students to be engaged in the curriculum, some are not meant to sit still. These Kore Active Stools will allow the students to sit, wiggle, and fidget on this stool while intuitively exercising their back muscles and working out their restless energy in comfort and support; they become active learners! These 6 stools will be used at the guided reading table where students receive small group language arts and math instruction. Their attention on the work at this table can not be taken away by the need to fidget or move. With the Kore Stools, students can move as needed and still concentrate on the rigorous academics of first grade.
Some students are wigglers; it is a known fact.
But, instead of focusing on the negative, your donation will help students embrace their need to exert energy and get work done. The Kore Stools will help student maintain focus in their seats and engaging their bodies during their learning, which in turn helps the learning process. Your donation to obtain these stools will provide a much needed support for students with wiggling needs who desire to learn.
