This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Every morning, I want my students to step into a classroom that feels like a home away from home. Many of my students come from all different types of families and most are living in poverty. I want my students to feel loved and safe within my classroom. I believe that no matter their background each student can succeed.

I strive to create a positive learning environment where my students can learn from their mistakes and become lifelong learners.

My Project

As I change grade levels, districts, and schools, I am requesting help for some essential items to help my students succeed. As adults we hate sitting at our desks all day doing work. Flexible seating is a great way to stimulate minds and give options to make learning fun.

This project includes a rug for whole group instruction for mini-lessons and a place for students to read and complete their assignments.

My project is also requesting additional flexible seating options for students to complete individual assignments and assessments. When you get the students up and moving it allows blood to flow to the brain increasing the ability to learn and retain new information.
