I have a classroom filled with talented, hard-working, and imaginative learners. They are smart. They are fun. They are unique. They are the reason I became a teacher. They are "go-getters" that utilize their time at school to gain the knowledge, social skills, and experiences they need in order to be successful, life-long learners.
These are some of the most compassionate kids I have ever met, always wanting to spread love and help others grow.

SCC is a Title I elementary school where over 50% of its students come from low-income households. It is our duty to help provide these students with not only a quality education, but to create bonds and share experiences they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.
My Project
Flexible seating is beginning to flood classrooms all across the country, and there is a reason why. IT WORKS! Flexible seating lets students choose where they sit in the classroom, allowing them to work in an environment that will help them reach their full potential.
Flexible seating not only aids in the growth of students' academic performance; it enhances their social performance as well.
Without standard desks, students are encouraged to share class materials rather than be territorial over their belongings. Students learn the value of community and shared accountability through choice.
With this project, my goal is to provide my students with a variety of flexible seating options (cushions, lap desks, flex bands, a wobble stool, and a standing desk). With 30 students, finding the perfect spot for success can be a challenge. With your help, I believe we can wiggle and wobble our way to success with flexible seating!
