My students need an adaptable flexible seating option to create personalized learning spaces to meet their individual needs, allowing students to wiggle and wobble as they wish.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Imagine a school of enthusiastic, energetic, kindergarten students! We work hard each day to learn to read, write, solve math problems, learn to problem solve and develop social skills. We want to see all of our students have an opportunity to experience real life learning, both in and outside of the classroom. Our school is a place for opportunity!
Our students are energetic, lively and love to learn through a variety of activities!
Our school is in a diverse neighborhood with students of all different cultures and backgrounds. Due to the diversity of the students in the township, students are given two field trips a year and teachers are responsible for providing classroom supplies and activities that are engaging and hands on learning experiences!
All students learn in different ways and at different paces. Some kindergarten students come to school for the very first time, while others have attended a preschool or daycare setting in the past. Some students in our school attend before school care, learn at school all day, then attend an after school care program due to parents' work schedules. Our school does a great job to provide variety
My Project
One of the most challenging things to remember with young learners is their need for movement and activity. The wobble seats will allow students an opportunity to get some movement during their school day without causing a distraction to others or missing out on class time!
The leveled readers will encourage the young minds to have a love of reading, especially while they read on their wobble seats!
Students will be able to read and wiggle, finding a position that is comfortable for them and hopefully encouraging MORE reading! These wobble seats and leveled readers will allow for students to have the individualized learning that is needed in Kindergarten during our individual reading time.
