Students come to school with many different life experiences. My classroom is no different! I have students who are English language learners, in special education, some come with traumatic experiences, such as, broken homes, parents in prison, drug/ alcohol abuse, and poverty, yet they persevere and come to school ready to learn everyday!
The school motto is - "We are the hardest working students in town!"
I am excited to give them any opportunity to learn and rise above the challenges life has given to them.
My Project
Using sensory tools helps students focus while staying on task. Their little bodies are always moving and I want to teach them appropriate ways to get the wiggles out while still learning. Students will be taught the appropriate way to use each of these tools so that they will use them effectively in the classroom.
Students are more engaged in their learning and less disruptive to the rest of the class when they are given appropriate ways to fidget.
I am ordering different types of sensory tools students so will have the opportunity to use and find which tool works the best for them. Every student is different and every student needs the best tool that works the best for them!
