This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from many different backgrounds and walks of life. Many of which face difficulties with home life, such as poverty,and English being their second language.

For many, school is the only constant routine in their lives.

I teach at a Title One school, where the majority of my students start the year at a disadvantage because of their, language and home life. Several of my students have anxiety or behavior issues that make focus on learning difficult.However, that doesn't stop them from their determination to succeed.

My Project

I have a large class size this year with a majority of my students who have a hard time staying focused and on task during times of whole group instruction and their seat work. They often lean back and forth on their chairs which is dangerous. By having some wobble chairs in my classroom, these students will be able to move during those times that are hard for them, and to focus on what they need to. They will be able to do this safely and without interruption or distraction to other students around them. Wobble chairs will help them in so many ways!
