My students need sitballs that allow them to release energy but still stay focused.
Were you the kid that just couldn't sit still in class? First graders were made for wiggling! Movement helps motivate and focus learners!
We are an energetic class of 20 first graders in south central PA.
My students love to learn and are constantly on the move. They have many different learning styles and I encourage them to embrace what makes them unique. Students are being diagnosed with "attention" issues at an alarming rate. Instead of seeing this as a negative, I believe it's time for teachers to embrace the wigglers and plan for their success!
The sit-or-go ball chairs allow students to release energy in appropriate ways while staying focused on their learning. Sitting on a ball requires the student to be in constant motion to keep themselves balanced and research shows that moving helps students focus. These unique chairs will also bring motivation to otherwise common tasks. I love that it includes a floor ring so they won't be rolling all over the classroom and they come in fun primary colors.
I embrace student's need for movement and these chairs will help support me in the quest to transform from the traditional classroom.
Allowing for movement creates engagement! Engagement is the key to learning!
