My Students

The typical day in our class is we rotate through Daily 5 activities, Read to Self, Read to Someone, Listen to Reading, Word Work, and Work on Writing. We like to spread out in the class to do this.

My first-grade students are always wanting to move.

They always want to sit in cool places throughout the room. and when I let them use it they get so excited. My school is a Title I school and many of my students do not have access to many resources.

My Project

My first grade students are full of energy and need to move constantly. With wobble stools they will be able to move while seated at their desks or anywhere in the classroom. They can release pent-up energy without distracted others all while completing their work. They will also be able to use the stools during other activities such as computer time or read to self. I'm trying to build up my flexible seating to allow students to choose where and what kind of furniture would suit them for the day. I currently have sit spots and carpet remnants that the kids can use.
