My students need wobble boards and spooner boards to provide them with an opportunity to move during class. These boards will provide students with an outlet for their restless energy while they work without distracting students.
There are 13 of us who are eager to learn each and every day they walk into the room. We come from Summerville, SC and are a Title I school. Supplies and funding are always needed and can be a struggle to get sometimes. Many of us receive free or reduced-price lunch. We are a diverse group coming from many different backgrounds. My class is a very active, social, and energetic group. They are constantly wanting to dance, move, and stretch their legs while learning. Having flexible seating would help their focus and concentration.
My Project
I am requesting wobble boards for my students to use while in class. Students will have wobble boards as flexible seating in the classroom setting. This flexible seating choice not only helps with students focus by enabling them to wiggle and work out their restless energy, but it also exercises their back muscles, core and provides support and comfort while they are standing at their desk.
Students with attention issues (ADHD) will become more proactive in their learning with this ability to move their body different ways while learning.
There are studies shown that shows that movement while learning increases the blood flow to students brain therefore strengthening their learning and limiting distractions. My students would love to get their wiggles out all day by Wiggling to success.
