Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are fun, loving, and excited to learn every day! They come to school with the biggest smiles on their faces, ready to tell their stories of what happened the night before. They come ready to learn and they want to please you with their best effort in the classroom and their cooperation with their peers.
They enjoy being at school every day and they love to learn; they are like sponges soaking up every word I have to say!
I love the school that I get to teach at every day because the students want to learn and want to be the best that they can be.
Rifle is a small town in Colorado. Many of the students at our school have tough living situations and families just manage to get by. The school is a safe place for students to learn and grow. We are a low-income school, but we do not feel that our students aren't capable. They are more than capable and we hold them to high standards to help them to be successful in school and in life.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take their learning into their own hands and to help them feel more comfortable in their learning environment. Slowly, we have been working on students advocating for themselves to choose where they will learn best in the classroom. We have students on the floor, in different parts of the room, and students who prefer to work at their desk. I have seen students make great choices and have shown more engagement in classroom activities.
These will help my students to achieve their educational goals, to make their learning more engaging, and fun!
For students to enhance their learning and to allow them to feel more comfortable in the classroom environment, I have chosen the wobble chairs and floor cushions. These tools will be practical for our classroom and will be great options for students who need wiggle breaks or to have a more comfortable learning environment. I have seen these products work in other classrooms. The students were more engaged and were having fun when they were learning.
The wiggle chairs and floor cushions will help to enhance our learning and will help my students to thrive in our classroom!
