This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a highly diverse group of students in many areas. They are both ethnically and socioeconomically diverse. They are a curious group of students who also show a diversity in their views, as well as their learning styles.
Our school thrives on honoring the individuality of each student and valuing what they bring to our school community.
Students are encouraged to be independent, critical thinkers and to learn more about the world around them through books, magazines, technology, and each other.
My Project
I have been exploring the area of flexible seating and really feel that it's time to give it a try! I would love for my students to be able to choose the seats that best supports their learning and I believe these stools will absolutely help support my students learning.
I want all my students to feel successful and feel as though their learning styles are supported in our environment.
In the past, I have given my students a few opportunities to find their just right working spot. If you like to lay down on the rug while you work, then go for it! If you like to sit on the floor, then go for it! If you like to sit at a table, then go for it! And now hopefully, I can say, if you like to wiggle while you work, then go for it! I am hoping to be as inclusive as possible and these stools can help support my students' and their learning.
