I love every one of my third-grade students! Each one of them is a unique and special individual. They work hard every day and try to accomplish everything that is asked of them. That is more difficult for some than for others.
Several of my students this year have special needs.
They struggle with staying on task and have lots of extra energy. Our resource teacher loaned our classroom a chair with bouncy-bands and it helps my "wiggly" students to stay focused and work while being able to wiggle. One of my students said, "This is amazing! I can stay focused!"
My Project
Each year we seem to have more students who are challenged by having to sit still and work, even for short periods of time. Their bodies want to keep up with their brains, and that is difficult in a traditional classroom setting.
These seating options will allow my students to be successful in class by allowing movement that is not distracting to themselves or others.
My students will be so excited to be able to choose an option that will keep them moving in positive ways!
My students will be able to focus on their reading and language arts work instead of worrying about wiggling.
