My Students

I teach students with a variety of intellectual disabilities, health impairments, and developmental delays. They spend time in their general education environment, but look forward to the time spent together as a resource room community.

My students are a community of diverse, optimistic, and curious learners.

They are welcoming of every learner and personality and excitedly cheer each other on through challenges and triumphs. They are goal driven and positive individuals who value positive relationships with their teachers and peers.

My Project

Static chairs only allow for a few seating positions. Many students in the resource room are better able to thrive in a learning environment that lets them move and gives them options. I feel that giving my students this seating option will increase their focus and boost their confidence in the classroom environment.

These balance balls will be utilized by my students during academic instruction, group work, and independent work.

By allowing students a choice in their learning environment, they will be better able to focus on important content and understand that they are an important member of their learning community.
