I am a second year teacher at a Title I school. I teach kindergarten to 21 amazing, challenging, intelligent, deserving students. These scholars come from low-income home, and most receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school is a stable, supportive, house of learning in what can be an often unstable neighborhood.
Our school community truly comes together to support the development of the whole child.
We believe each child has enormous potential and deserves the world. Our curriculum is rigorous, but the students are up to the challenge and set high goals for themselves. The pride they take in their successes is amazing to see.
I am requesting two stools for my students to use as flexible seating options in our small groups. These ergonomic stools are designed with a convex base, so students can move around while they are sitting down. This movement provides both physical and mental benefits to the students. While the students are moving, they are more focused on their work. Students can sway and wiggle while sitting in these stools and not disrupt the other students in our groups.
This project will make a big difference for so many children!
My students love learning, but need the extra support to allow them to feel more comfortable in the classroom setting. They will be excited to be able to sit on something other then a regular chair.
