My Students

My students are amazing. They are extremely creative, and great problem solvers. The majority of my students are Native American. Our school is located on a reservation. Our class size ranges from 20 - 25 students.

My students set reading and writing goals and strive to achieve them.

They are avid readers and love to share their thinking with classmates. We work each day to create a positive community of learners. They are also very energetic and need frequent movement.

My Project

Kids need to move frequently. In our reading and writing classes, we work to increase our stamina. By the middle to the year we spend 30 - 40 minutes reading and writing independently. Bouncy Bands would allow my students to move their feet while working and thinking at their desks.

Bouncy Bands give students an outlet for built up energy.

This will help to decrease anxiety and will help them to focus.

Also, as students get older recess time is limited. Having the ability to move their feet at their desks will be a bridge to break time.

Bouncy Bands also provide a quiet way for my students to move without distracting others.
