My students love learning, and love having new different things to try. They are very imaginative and excel with new experiences.
My classroom is a 3rd grade classroom in Oklahoma.
We are a high risk/high needs community, and many of my kids come to school with heavy hearts. Many of our kids need extra behavior and emotional supports, along with their academic needs. We do the best we can to support our students so they can be successful and enjoy school.
My Project
My third grade students love to move! Having them sit for long periods at a time can be very problematic. They become uncomfortable and find other ways to sit in their seat that aren't always very safe.
I received one wiggle seat earlier this year and my students couldn't wait to use it!
The problem was... I only received one and I have twenty-three students. It is very popular and I'd love to have more for my kids! They have the ability to move a little bit in their seats, be a little more comfortable, and it gives them a little more sensory stimulation so they can focus.
We also got 3 of the desk bands for bouncy feet, which are a huge hit as well. Only a few of my students are able to take advantage of them, and I would love for all of my kids to able to have something to use if they so choose.
