This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The make up of our school is unique. The majority of our students come from lower income families. We are a title 1 school located in Georgia. We area a neighborhood school and still have the family feel that is unique.
My students walk in every morning excited and ready to learn.
They are full of energy and you would never know such a diverse group of students would mold into the family they have. We have various learners
Dynamic, diverseness, and enthusiastic are the words that describe my students. Despite challenging home lives and socioeconomic disadvantages, my students still show up everyday with a hunger to learn.
My Project
I have a diverse groups of students an learners. The diversity truly makes our classroom special, but we have a lot of energy to burn throughout the day.
We would like wobble chairs to help students with difficulties sitting still.
We think the chairs would be a productive way to burn off excess energy.
The opportunity for students with specific needs to have the option to move and learn at the same time would be a huge benefit for my class.
When kids sit on the Wobble Chair, they have to use their core muscles to maintain stability and keep from tipping to one side or the other. The Wobble Chair is an awesome seating option for the classroom and will be a huge help for students with attention difficulties.
