Help me give my students three wobble chairs which allows flexible seating and movement throughout the day, and storage organizer shelves so each child will have his/her own cubby.
My first graders come to school eager and excited to learn. They are determined, creative, loving and inquisitive. Seeing their confidence grow and compassion for helping each other is one of my favorite things! They are discovering books and the joy they bring as well as and how to express themselves through writing and art.
Our class is a safe place where they can celebrate their success and find their passion.
My students thrive on consistency and organization. In our classroom we are a family. Each student comes to class with different life experiences and needs.
My Project
Flexible seating options including these durable wobble chairs will ensure that my students have a space to work that allows them to be focused and expend energy that might otherwise prevent them from completing work. These wobble chairs will allow students to wiggle while they work and will improve posture, focus, and overall productivity. I have an inclusive classroom, and research shows that certain flexible seating options benefit students with ADD, ADHD, and autism.
My students thrive on organization.
These shelves will serve as cubbies for each of my students so that they will have a defined space of their own to store their book boxes, pencil boxes, coats, and more. Students will be able to easily find their materials and access them quickly so that we can maximize instructional time.
Our current shelves are held together with thumb tacks, and there is no defined space so materials are often jumbled up and hard to find.
When each student has his/her own cubby, he/she will have a defined, organized space. There will be consistency with transitions and more routine, which is so important for my young students. These durable chairs will allow students for years to come to wiggle while they work and increase their engagement.
