Help me give my students more wobble stools to help meet more students needs. Also, please help me get some hands-on literacy materials so they can kinesthetically learn their sight words and learn to manipulate words.
My students were so excited about the flexible seating that we received with our last DonorsChoose project, but there are not quite enough to go around. We are also hoping to get some hands-on manipulatives for our literacy work stations.
My classroom is a busy place filled with 25 second graders who are full of lots of energy!
We work hard all day learning to read, write and work with numbers. We are also learning to share, communicate and problem solve.
Watching how much second graders learn in a year and how eager they are to continue to learn is amazing! It's exciting to see how much each child will grow, change and achieve during the year.
My Project
Second graders have very busy bodies! They like to move while they work, and the wobble stools are a perfect way to manage their wiggles while they are still able to learn. Through our last project, we were able to get some wobble stools, but there are not enough to go around!
My students are at a key time in developing their literacy skills!
By having some hands-on manipulatives for them to use as they create and manipulate words, they will be able to use multi-sensory approaches to their learning. We will be building words as well as manipulating letters to make new words as we continue to develop our vocabulary.
