Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are a Title I school and resources are very limited, especially when it comes to resources. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

My students face many challenges so I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

I work hard to meet the needs of every student in my class regardless of what level they are on. Whether it is a child working below level or a child that above level, each child would benefit greatly to have fun, new experiences to enhance their love for learning.

My Project

I have 20 fantastic "firsties" with lots of energy. We are lucky enough to have some flexible seating in our classroom, but we need more options so that each child can make their own choice each day.

My "firsties" are full of joy, laughter, curiosity and an eagerness to learn and feel accomplished in all that they do.

They are bubbly, chatty, and full of surprises. They work best while being given freedom to move and have opportunities to choose what to use and where to sit. I am hopeful to give them more freedom and choice of fulfilling this project.
