My Students

Our school is in a rural area that depends on agriculture. We are a consolidated district serving students from five small communities. Our school isn't in a town--it's in the middle of pasture land and fields, so all of our students ride the bus or drive to school.

Our rural school has over 50% of students receiving free and reduced-priced meals.

I am continually looking for ways to engage the students in creative and relevant activities, and part of that is making sure they are comfortable in my classroom.

My Project

Today's classroom environment should support students by giving them opportunities to do their best work. No two students learn the same way. Research has shown that flexible seating improves focus in the classroom as well as also improving collaboration among students and increasing student performance.

Allowing for more movement while seated will help my students work more efficiently.

Many students fidget because they don't get enough movement throughout the day and these balance disks will allow them to move more while seated. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, but you will also​ ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
