My Students

Each day, my Sharp Scholars enter our classroom excited and energized for learning. They know that through perseverance and hard work, they will be ready for college and career.

Although half of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch and many face challenges inside and outside of the school environment, this does not hinder their eagerness to learn.

They inspire me each day with their enthusiasm, and we create a classroom that serves as a safe space where they can take intellectual risks and develop deeper learning.

My Project

I know that when students can move about the room and choose from a variety of seating options, student engagement and focus increase. I want to add stability discs to our classroom's flexible seating options in order to empower students with more choice.

I believe this project will benefit my students by facilitating greater student engagement and focus, increased time on task, and higher levels of learning as they are empowered with options to choose how they would like to sit and learn.

I am committed to creating a calm, comfortable learning environment for students. These stability discs can be used both on our classroom chairs and on the floor and will promote core stability and improve balance and posture.
