I teach in a K-5 special education classroom with students of varying abilities. My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
My Project
My classroom has a variety of students with different needs. My goal is to have a fully engaged classroom that meets all of my students' needs. This will create a seamless classroom community and encourages active learning. Research states that alternative seating in the classroom helps all students reach academic success with keeping their bodies regulated.
My project is to equip my students with more options to give them the opportunity to learn and work in whatever way is best for them.
The wobble stools, standing station and lap desks will help motivate them, let them wiggle, and keep them engaged throughout the day while they are hard at work.
