Welcome to our classroom, where students are imaginative, thoughtful, and energetic. They come in every morning eager to learn and to do their best.
As soon as my students walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their growth and potential.
I make sure they know that they are loved and that I want them to find success. By doing this in a positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
Many of our students have undergone various forms of childhood trauma including homelessness, hunger, divorce, and abuse. While many have experienced challenges early in life, our staff strongly believes that such challenges do not (and will not) define them. Our students move through their education with the passion, determination, and inspiration needed to become college, career, and community ready.
My Project
While much of our academics involve whole-body learning, independent activities can require additional stillness. In order to meet the unique needs of each child, I will introduce a variety of seated options in our classroom.
Flexible seating will provide students with the unique subtle movement, support, comfort, and core-engagement their growing bodies need and deserve.
Wobble stools will help our students find comfortable and ever-changing positions while strengthening their bodies from the inside - out.
Bouncy bands will provide students sitting in traditional chairs the option to bounce, stretch, and strengthen their legs, ankles, and feet.
Stools will allow students to have better posture while working at their tables.
As we introduce flexible seating, students will have the opportunity to explore EVERY new item and find which seat(s) best meets their unique needs.
With your help, these seated options will discreetly soothe anxiety, frustration, and hyperactivity while meeting the unique social, emotional, and physical needs of every child.
