My Students
I teach a wonderful group of students in a diverse area. I am blessed to teach an amazing group of students who I believe are excited about learning. They work very hard every day striving to achieve.
I teach students who are eager to learn but are not provided the resources that other students have.
I know in my heart I am teaching our future doctors, lawyers, nurses, and engineers. Most of them are low income and receive free lunch.
My Project
My students are very eager and anxious to learn. They often come to school with so much energy built up that it becomes difficult to remain seated for extended periods of time in a regular chair and stay focused. This creates an environment that is difficult for the students to maximize their learning potential.
Bringing flexible seating into my classroom will allow students the chance to wiggle without interruptions.
They can move around freely without affecting other students. Research shows that when students remain active learning continues. These flexible seating options will allow mobility without constant interruptions because the amount is just enough for the student to feel free, but it is not too much to be a distraction.
