Our school serves a majority of economically disadvantaged, inner city, and immigrant students.
I have been blessed with the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of students who need it the most.
The students at my school are often coming from foreign countries and know little to no English.
I try my best to make my classroom the warmest and welcoming place possible. My students have often moved four or five times by the time they make it to my class. I pride myself on making my classroom a constant and safe place in their chaotic lives.
1st Graders deserve to be able to move around. As a teacher, I have noticed that the majority of my first graders are able to focus more when they are moving.
Alternative seating is the perfect way to allow my students to move while being actively engaged in their learning.
I want to give my students every opportunity to reach their highest potential.
I also want to provide them as many different choices of seating to help them achieve those goals and potentials.
I want to be able to reach all of the different types of learners in my classroom. Alternative seating is a wonderful way to reach my kinesthetic or physical learners. It is even a wonderful way to promote focus in ADD/ADHD students.
