My students are the best. I could not be more amazed by these 5 and 6-year-olds. They show up every day with smiles on their faces and an overwhelming amount of love in their hearts. Their desire to learn and excel impresses me daily.
I teach at one of the most diverse schools in Tennessee with over 30 countries being represented by our wonderful boys and girls.
My classroom is the most beautiful "melting pot" you can imagine. Our school is a Title I school; therefore assistance is provided to 100% of our students. We are also a Leader in Me school. The Leader in Me is based on Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People; this initiative focuses on empowering confidence, well-rounded learners and leaders.
My Project
Five and six year olds are not built to sit still. They are wiggly, energetic, and excited; so why are we expecting them to sit still while they are working and learning? Wobble chairs allow kids to wiggle and wobble while focusing on their work.
The mind and body are connected and regular chairs do not give energetic students the option to get out any pent-up energy while they are working; but wobble chairs encourage it.
Kids love these new chairs because they are fun, comfortable, and colorful. Wobble chairs will not only help my active kindergarten students stay focused but they are also calming and good for their posture.
Your donation will provide my class with enough wobble chairs for our small group table. Each student while get to use these special chairs during this critical learning period . My kindergarteners will be overjoyed to wiggle while they work.
