Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are sweet, loving, energetic 5 and 6 year olds who come to school ready to learn and explore new things. At 5 and 6, it is a real struggle for my little learners to sit at a desk for hours a day.
For most of my students, traditional classroom settings of just chairs and tables are not realistic for good learning outcomes.
Being able to provide my students with the option to get their wiggles out will result in more active, engaged, and relaxed students.
My Project
Asking 5 and 6-year-olds to stay in their seats for long periods of time is a lot to ask for. My kindergarteners need flexible seating options to help keep them engaged and focused.
A lot of my little learners just need to be able to move in order for them to learn.
The inflatable donut balls, bouncy chair bands, and stability discs will not only keep students more focused and engaged but also make school more fun and comfortable. I cannot wait to see the amount of engagement and active learning that will happen with the use of flexible seating in my classroom!
