My students are smart, creative, ambitious scholars who love to work hard in the classroom. They are very active 6-7 years old and need a lot of opportunity for movement to really let their their abilities and true self shine through.
My class is truly a school family and needs options to best meet each individual need.
Each student that enters my classroom has a love for learning and I can't wait to foster that love and build upon it!
My Project
Flexible seating will empower my students by giving them choice and control over their learning and environment. It will give them the opportunity for movement to help keep them actively engaged in the lessons.
Flexible seating will also allow students to choose where they work in the classroom and choose the position that will work best for them.
It will also give them a chance to move throughout the room during the day and interact with different students instead of the traditional assigned seats. The portable lap desks will give students the option to sit on the carpet close to where the instruction is given. The cushions will allow students to pick them up and move them to a location that best fits their needs and learning style. The balance ball will give students lots of opportunity for movement to help increase their ability to focus and stay on task. The plastic stack chairs I will use around my teacher table during center time for more choice then the traditional chair. The bouncy chair bands will be put around the chair legs to allow students to exercise and move their legs while sitting. Students are expected more and more each year. My students are only 6-7 years old, and I want to provide them with every possible resource to be successful!
