My students need four wobble seats to support their learning! Four alternative seating options will let kids wiggle as they focus, helping them to be more successful in class.
We are a happy, multi-age classroom community in a small school. We have a wide range of abilities and needs, and we love to MOVE! We dance, sing, read, write, create and explore every day. My second and third graders are immersed in hands-on work, independent projects and group collaboration in a rigorous and intellectually stimulating environment.
In every classroom, there are kids who need to move their bodies to do their best work.
In our room we have different seating options to meet our needs (stools, kneeling-height tables, pillows, counter-top work spaces, rug spots, etc.). We also have lots of hands-on projects and brain breaks!
We are kind and hard-working. We're learning about ourselves and we're showing GRIT as we tackle new concepts every day. We celebrate our successes and we know it's OK to make mistakes; it's how we learn.
My Project
Do you remember what it's like to just... SIT? Maybe you still sit far too much in your day. My second and third grade students have lots of opportunities for alternative seating, brain breaks and movement. Even with a good number of breaks and movement options though some kids do better with a little movement as they focus.
As a teacher I've seen the power of Wiggle Stools/Wobble Chairs first-hand.
Last year I had 8 children who benefited immensely from these chairs. This year I'm in a different school and I miss the chairs!
Four wiggle stools/wobble chairs will give my students more opportunities to move as they work. Some children are happier and able to better concentrate if they can move a bit at their seat. If I had the chance I'd get a full classroom set of these (with a mix of traditional seats too for kids who love that stability)! Four seats will give some kids a lot of time with the seats, plus the opportunity for everyone to try them out. They'll be a hot commodity and they'll make the school day better for some of my students. I know because I've seen it happen!
