My Students
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, stop! Did someone say wiggle seat for 20 outstanding PreK Scholars?! I believe I did. An active learner often needs space to wiggle, which aids in the efficient retention of new material in which they can use for a lifetime. As the primary person that sets the academic tone for my scholar I am to create a classroom that is as unique as they are yet inviting and warm to focuses an all of the social-emotions needs that taps into their sensory needs.

My Project
Wiggle seats allow scholars the opportunity to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them, whether sitting in a chair or choice spaces around the room during independent work practices. As most of my scholars, the first time in a structured environment is my PreK classroom, sitting still to focus can be quite challenging. However, if they are provided the appropriate supports they will be more likely to remain in their seats self-regulate their thoughts and emotions to effectively complete assigned tasks. These wiggle seats are designed to meet multiple needs for scholars with noticeable benefits. By providing all of my scholars with such access also eliminates the need to single out specific scholars because they are all being provided the same supports.
