Ms. Bammel from Newport News VA is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students the flexible seating choices of flex-space wobble stools and comfy floor seats to help experience and find what works well for them and what does not.

I teach 2nd grade at a Title I school in Newport News, Virginia. My classroom is very diverse with students ranging from average to Talented and Gifted student learners. They are all amazing children and are eager to learn every day. Second grade is a critical year to help prepare them for state testing the following year. I still make sure we have time every day to focus on growing in skills like kindness and mindfulness. These kids need to know they matter and they are loved and I take time every day to make sure they know that.
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions!
They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my motivation!
Each child in my classroom loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where
Flexible seating allows children to experiment and find out what works for them and what does not. By having flex-space wobble and comfy floor seats, they will help improve social interaction and collaboration through flexibility in grouping. It gives students a sense of ownership and teaches decision-making skills when they are not told exactly where or how to sit.
My goal is to help children with increased self-monitoring, collaboration, and a sense of pride by providing more options for seating in our classroom.
