My Students

In my classroom, I try my best to encourage a feeling of love, safety, and family. Students who enter my classroom are not only met with gentle guidance but also high expectations. My students are unique and creative individuals. Each student comes in with their own story that has helped mold them into the special person they are and I believe it is my job to help them reach their highest potential.

My students are eager to learn and, because of the changes they have all faced over the last year, they are also resilient!

Each student has had to adapt and persevere which in the end has made them stronger and kinder.

My Project

In the age of Covid, learning to be in a learning environment can be pretty tricky for these 7 and 8-year-olds. My second graders have never had the experience of a "normal" school year. In Kindergarten they were forced to learn remotely from their homes. In first grade, they were required to sit at a single desk all day. No groups, no partners, 6 feet apart. This year, I want to give my students flexible seating in order to give them a comfortable break from sitting in their hard chairs all day. THESE KIDS NEED MOVEMENT! Being able to move or wiggle can make a world of difference to a child who is struggling to focus.
