I am a second grade teacher who loves my job and my students. We are a Title One school, mostly ESL, and have a high migrant population.
I teach the most amazing kids who are eager to learn, strive to achieve and overcome adversity in all areas of their life.
We are a "Leader in Me" school. Over three-fourths of our population at this amazing school is from low income families. Financial support for our school and needed resources are therefore limited.
My Project
This project will help encourage student engagement and learning throughout the day by providing several seating options. The Kore Patented WOBBLE Chairs will be used at our guided reading/math table. These chairs will give students the ability to focus on the task at hand by giving them the opportunity to move/fidget in an appropriate manner. Portable Lap Desks will also allow my students the opportunity to find a comfortable place for them to work and therefore increase their level of engagement.
Flexible seating will help provide my students with a safe, secure and comfortable environment where they feel empowered to be the best they can be!
