Wiggle and Wobble While We Work

Help me give my students flexible seating options such as wobble stools, wobble cushions, floor cushions, floor loungers, and reclining seats to help them stay more engaged in their learning and get their "wiggles" out.

My Students

I teach Kindergarten at a Title 1 school to the sweetest little learners. 84% of students qualify for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch, and 40% of my students are ELL (English Language Learners).

Kindergarten is an important foundational year for children.

I want to provide a learning environment for my students that is nurturing, safe, and one in which they will be happy and excited to learn each day. Providing a comfortable learning environment for students will help them be more engaged in their learning and get them more excited about learning and coming to school every day.

My students deserve every opportunity to become the best students in a welcoming, loving, and nurturing environment. Although many of my students face adversity, their challenges do not define their ability to learn and be successful. Their desire to learn despite the obstacles they often face is nothing short of amazing!

My Project

My number one goal as a teacher is to instill a lifelong love of learning in my classroom. Students learn best when they are actively engaged in their learning. Because many students at this age are active and have a more challenging time sitting still and staying on task for extended periods, they need endless opportunities to move around and get those "wiggles" out. I want to provide a comfortable learning environment that provides my students with flexible seating options that will allow them to move around as needed and continue their learning without classroom disruptions.

Having flexible seating options will provide a more comfortable learning environment, but these options will allow all students to learn the way they learn best.

Whether they know best sitting in a chair at a table, standing, wiggling, reclining, or even lying on the floor, I want to ensure that my students stay actively engaged in their learning with whatever makes them most comfortable. I want them to look forward to coming to school each day and becoming the best little readers, writers, and mathematicians they can be. Providing students with flexible seating options will allow them to learn to meet their needs best.
