Help me give my students flexible seating options, including Flex-Space Wobble Stools and Balance-Ball Chairs, to bounce and wobble on while staying engaged!
I am thrilled to begin my first year teaching kindergarten! My students come from diverse backgrounds, with over half of them living at or below poverty level. They are passionate about learning and come to school ready to explore and try new things!
My classroom offers a variety of nooks for students to learn and play.
I have a dramatic play area, lego/block area and reading corner. My students are constantly moving in their seats whether they are building towers out of legos, being a "customer" at our restaurant, or painting a picture at the art center. I want to offer them their choice of flexible seating options (wobble stools and balance ball chairs) while they are enjoying these centers.
My Project
Flexible seating offers students alternative seating in our centers. Empowering students with the option of what to sit on gives them a little control in their environment where so many choices are made for them. The wobble stools and balance chairs are easily moved throughout the classroom and will be used to enhance and increase collaboration at our lego and block table. Students will be able to use the seats to read together or in small groups.
Wobble stools and balance ball chairs will allow my students to wobble, bounce, and rock while learning.
Kindergarteners are very energetic and these flexible seating options give them an outlet to burn off their energy, thus keeping their minds alert and focused!
