My students need headphones for listening to books read aloud online. My students also need wobble cushions to help them stay on task during seated work.
As a teacher of our military families, our students' transient rate is extremely high. Each school year, I have at least four or more students that are new to our state or country. When they move into the neighborhood many have to go onto a waiting list for their housing to become available. Many of our 1st grade students have lived in hotels for a few months while waiting for living arrangements to become available. I do not often get to see many of my previous students from year to year as they go into each new school year from various learning environments.
My Project
My students would like new headphones on our computers because they have tiny ears and the large black ones are currently making them hurt. The cushions on these headphones will help their ears stay tuned for reading. The volume control is in high demand for a six year old. The wobble seats will help them in all subjects when working in small groups to help them stay on task. Many students get really wiggly this time of year and making it through the do in the seat without some movement can be a difficult task. These materials will help improve student behavior and then will boost all their academic areas!
